PIVOT Yoga Women's Shirt Detail

We've put a lot of thought into how to make PIVOT Yoga as easy as sliding on a set of yoga clothes. Learn more below.

    Cuff Ribbing

We want to make sure the shirt arms are not too short for anybody. But we do not want them be too long, either. The solution: we size the arms generously but sew in special cuff ribbing that takes up any slack if there is some.

    Thumbholes

Your wrists are an important part of your body position. To make sure we can cover them with a sensor, our shirts have thumbholes and stretch across the bottom half of your hand. Plenty of room left for traction, and a snug fit.

    Fabric

Our shirts come in a luxurious medium-weight 262 gram poly/spandex blend. They keep you dry and comfortable in all but the most bikram temperatures.

    Stripes

We are hardly the first athletic wear to have stripes. But ours are for something more than just looking racy. You spend a lot of your time with PIVOT Yoga watching your own avatar on screen, and that can be trickier than it sounds. For one thing, the screen is reversed. That means even though you will be looking on screen at the front side of your avatar, your right arm will be displayed on the left side of the screen, and so on. This takes some getting used to, and to help, we put these handy stripes on your clothes that remind you which side of your body is which. The stripes even change pattern--as they go around the side, they become dotted, and then eventually disappear on the back. All so you stay oriented. But we suppose they ARE racy, too!

    High Waist

High waists are common in yoga pants because they help everything stay tucked while you are pretzeling yourself from one side of the mat to another. But with us, there is another reason to have a high waist: it as an excellent place for us to embed some of our technology. Your waist, particularly the side of your waist, gives a clear signal to the rest of PIVOT Yoga even when you are in closed poses (Forward Fold, etc.). Most other places on your lower half get covered and occluded in at least some poses. But you can ignore all this and just feel good about your tummy feeling tucked away.

    Stirrups

Stirrups are not all that common in yoga pants, and we understand why. But for PIVOT, we need them. For us to track your ankle properly, we have to have our technology embedded directly above the midfoot area, on top of the cuneiform bones. Doing that requires a stirrup. If you are running errands, however, you could always tuck the stirrups in to the rest of the pant leg. It will not bother our technology and it might feel better with shoes.
